Palm Sunday

Posted by Bunyan Team on March 28, 2021 at 7:00 PM

As we mark Palm Sunday today here's a link to a reflection:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=vkMgce1cHCs

The reflection was created by Revd Phil Jump and is shared with permission.

A prayer for Palm Sunday:

Jesus,

Lord of Life - we celebrate that You have come to save us. Today we join with the shouts of hosanna from the crowds on that very first Palm Sunday and our hearts are filled with joy!

But as we follow Your journey towards Good Friday when we remember all that You did for us on the cross, help us to know that You are with us when celebrations turn to sadness, when laughter turns to tears, when joy turns to sorrow.

Loving Lord, give us the faith we need to follow you always - whatever our path in life holds. And help us to know You with us through it all.

Amen.

As the week ahead unfolds why not take time each day to pause and reflect on all that took place that very first Easter.

#selfcaresaturday #lovethroughlent

Taking a break from social media and all things electronic can be really beneficial for our mental health - why not unplug today and take a bit of a break? You could use the time to breathe, to sleep, to get creative or get out on a walk.

Tonight we'll be sharing in our Church Members' Meeting - 7.50pm for 8pm. We will begin with a minute of silence at 8pm to mark the National Day of Reflection.

National Day of Reflection

Posted by Bunyan Team on March 23, 2021 at 5:00 AM

Today, the country marks a year of Covid with a "National Day of Reflection" to mark the first anniversary of Britain going into lockdown and in remembrance of the 125,000 people lost to coronavirus over the last year.

The public are encouraged to observe a minute’s silence at noon, which will be followed by church bells tolling at 12:01pm.

At 8pm there will be a national doorstep vigil with a touch or a light with prominent landmarks (including the Stevenage Clock Tower) lit up in yellow across the country.

Please can we keep everyone affected by the devastation of Covid19 in our prayers today.

Stevenage Borough Council have also asked that people send messages about your experiences, losses, or thoughts to: CV19remembrance@stevenage.gov.uk or keyworkerthanks@stevenage.gov.uk

Self-care Saturday!

Posted by Bunyan Team on March 20, 2021 at 5:30 AM

It's Saturday and time to check in to make sure we're taking good care of ourselves. One good way of doing that is committing a Bible verse to memory so that God can bring it to mind when we need it the most - it might be a verse that inspires, comforts or challenges, but I wonder which Bible verse would you choose? Comment below and let us know! #selfcaresaturday

#selfcaresaturday

#lovethroughlent

How amazing is this - all the hearts on the Love Through Lent pdfs carefully cut out and attached to a mirror - then when one is completed it's taken down - what an awesome way to rise to the challenge! We're really hoping everyone who is being blessed feels the love through it all!

Have you done anything creative as part of Love Through Lent?

Which heart could you be thinking about ticking off today as part of #selfcaresaturday?
